The most liquid fully CFTC-regulated exchange, and the one we send most first-timers to.
We track live pricing across every CFTC-regulated event exchange all day. These are the US platforms worth funding — and exactly who each one is for.

The most liquid fully CFTC-regulated exchange, and the one we send most first-timers to.
The biggest brand in political markets — now trading on a US-regulated, dollar-settled venue.
The prediction market that already lives inside the app sports bettors open every day.
We fund real accounts and track live pricing across the venues on this page throughout the day. Rankings come from what that data — and hands-on use — actually show, weighed across five things that matter:
Is it a CFTC-regulated US exchange, and do you hold dollars or self-custody crypto? A US license and USD settlement is the difference between a chargeback and a shrug — and it is the first thing we check.
We watch 24h volume and the spread between the best yes and best no all day. A platform can list thousands of markets and still be untradeable at size in the ones you care about.
Breadth across politics, sports, macro and culture — plus clear, fast, well-sourced resolution. A market is only as good as the rule that settles it.
Trading fees, withdrawal rails, and how long it takes to get your money back. On US venues this is usually painless; we flag it when it isn’t.
Onboarding, mobile app, order types, and how honest the interface is about odds. We fund real accounts and place real trades to judge this.
Kalshi is the one prediction market we can recommend without an asterisk. It is a CFTC-regulated designated contract market, which in plain terms means you are trading regulated USD-denominated contracts on a US exchange — not sending crypto to an offshore book and hoping. That regulatory backbone, plus the deepest US liquidity we track, is why it takes best overall.
The trade-off is reach. Because it plays by US rules, Kalshi skips some of the freewheeling global and long-shot markets you will find elsewhere, and a few thin categories dry up overnight. But for the markets most people actually want — elections, Fed decisions, the Super Bowl, weekly NFL — the books are tight and the app is genuinely good.
It is also the easiest on-ramp. You fund with a bank transfer or card, you see dollars, and you can withdraw dollars. For a first prediction-market account, that alone is worth a lot.
Polymarket is the biggest name in prediction markets, and for US traders the story just changed. It now runs a CFTC-regulated, USD-settled exchange stateside after acquiring a licensed venue — so you can finally trade Polymarket-style political and macro markets on a regulated US platform, without the crypto-offshore workaround.
Worth being clear about the two Polymarkets: the original global site at polymarket.com is crypto-funded, famously deep on world events, and not open to US persons — treat it as off-limits. The version we recommend here is the US-regulated product. Its books are newer and thinner than Kalshi’s for now, but it carries the most recognized brand in the category and is scaling fast.
FanDuel Predicts is the prediction market for people who already have a FanDuel account. It puts CFTC-regulated event contracts inside the same app millions of people use for sports, with the same fast funding and withdrawals — which lowers the barrier to a first trade more than any pitch about liquidity ever could.
It is early, and honest about scope: coverage is narrower than Kalshi or Polymarket, and we do not yet track its pricing in the AllTop feed, so we can’t vouch for its live depth the way we can for the two above. But for a sports bettor curious about markets, starting where your money already lives is a perfectly reasonable on-ramp.
In the US, a prediction market is only worth funding if it’s a CFTC-regulated exchange. Here’s where every notable venue stands — who’s regulated, who’s applied, and who to avoid.

Start with what you actually want to trade. If it is elections or macro, the Polymarket brand and Kalshi’s depth both make sense. If it is sports, Kalshi is deepest and FanDuel is the easiest on-ramp. For a first account of any kind, Kalshi wins on regulation, dollars, and product polish.
Then confirm it is a US-regulated venue. Every platform we recommend on this page is CFTC-regulated and settles in dollars — that is the bar for a US trader, and the table above shows exactly where each site stands. Anything crypto-funded and offshore, however deep, is not a place a US reader should be signing up.
You do not have to marry one. Plenty of serious traders keep a Kalshi account for depth and a Polymarket account for political markets, and arbitrage the gaps between them. Our live pricing below is built precisely to help you spot when the same event is priced differently across venues.
Yes — on CFTC-regulated exchanges. Kalshi, the US Polymarket product, FanDuel Predicts, ForecastEx and others operate as or through CFTC-regulated venues and are available to US residents. That is the cleanest legal footing in the category, and it is why every platform we recommend here clears that bar.
The original global Polymarket at polymarket.com is a different story: it is crypto-native and not open to US persons, and you should treat its access rules as binding rather than optional. None of this is legal advice, and the landscape moves fast — the table above reflects our reading as of July 2026, and you can always confirm a venue’s current registration on the CFTC website.
Kalshi, for most people. It is the most liquid fully CFTC-regulated US exchange, it settles in dollars, and its app is the most polished in the category. Traders who want the Polymarket brand and political-market depth should look at Polymarket’s US-regulated product.
Kalshi, Polymarket’s US product, FanDuel Predicts, ForecastEx (Interactive Brokers) and Crypto.com all operate as or through CFTC-regulated exchanges, with Robinhood offering Kalshi’s contracts. Others, like DraftKings, have applied. See the regulatory table above for the current picture.
Polymarket now offers a CFTC-regulated, USD-settled product for US traders, which is the version we recommend. The original global site at polymarket.com is crypto-funded and not open to US persons — treat it as off-limits.
Some traders do, particularly by arbitraging price differences for the same event across platforms. But these are real-money markets with real risk, and most participants should size positions accordingly. Only stake what you can afford to lose.
