As part of her senior thesis on video game addiction, Roxanne Myers attempted a weekend-long gaming marathon. Partway through her research, she fell asleep in a cross-legged position. Because she has a pre-existing condition that makes her prone to blood clots, she lost circulation in the lower part of her body. As a result, she had to have her feet partially amputated.
